  8. WHERE IT RESIDES

  11. The ReminderPro system extension file (also called the "Init")
  12. must reside inside the Extensions folder which is inside the
  13. System folder.

  16. WHAT IT DOES
  17. ------------

  19. The ReminderPro system extension works in the background
  20. continuously to display reminders at the appropriate times.
  21. While you use the ReminderPro application to schedule reminders,
  22. it is the system extension that displays the reminders. To display
  23. the reminders, the system extension launches a tiny application
  24. called "Reminders". This application quits automatically after
  25. it has finished displaying reminders.

  28. ACCELERATED FOR POWER MACINTOSH
  29. -------------------------------

  31. The ReminderPro 3.5 system extension will run on 68K and
  32. Power Macintosh computers. When running on a Power Macintosh,
  33. it will automatically run the accelerated version.

  36. TROUBLESHOOTING MEMORY ERROR MESSAGES
  37. -------------------------------------

  39. The ReminderPro 3.5 system extension can generate one of the following
  40. error messages when it runs out of memory:
  41.  
  42. MESSAGE 1:
  43.  
  44. The ReminderPro extension is out of memory.
  45. You will not be able to snooze reminders!
  46.  
  47. MESSAGE 2:
  48.  
  49. The ReminderPro extension did not load as it was not able to
  50. read the reminder database file. It may have run out of memory.

  52. MESSAGE 3:
  53.  
  54. The ReminderPro extension did not load as it was not able to
  55. read the snooze database file. It may have run out of memory.
  56.  
  57. These messages are received if you have a lot of reminders.
  58. The ReminderPro system extension reserves memory for certain
  59. number of reminders. If you reach the limit, the extension
  60. needs to be reconfigured for more number of reminders.
  61.  
  62. Following are the steps to increase the extension memory.
  63.  
  64. 1)  Launch the ReminderPro application.
  65. 2)  Hold down the option key and pull down the "Customize" menu.
  66. 3)  Select "Extension Configuration" from the "Customize" menu.
  67. 4)  Increase the parameter named "Init Zone Size" by 40 Kbytes.
  68.     (Add 40 Kbytes to whatever is there).
  69. 5)  DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE.
  70. 6)  Save the changes.
  71. 7)  Restart your computer since this change takes effect only
  72.     upon restart.
